Zacuto Gratical HD Indie EVF Recoil Kit

The Zacuto Gratical HD Indie Recoil Kit from B&H is a universal shoulder-mounted rig designed for DSLRs and mirrorless cameras that pairs Zacuto's Indie EVF Recoil with their Gratical HD Micro OLED EVF. The Indie EVF Recoil includes a VCT Universal baseplate, QR Riser, Zgrip Z-Mount Zwivel handgrip, Halfcage Rail, and a Recoil Handle. The rig is designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder-mounted or on a tripod, without the need for heavy counterweights. With modern lenses and cameras being similar weights, the balance point is often where the lens meets the camera body. Zacuto's Recoil rigs place the balance directly over your shoulder, relocating focus, monitoring, and camera controls forward, and creating a lighter and shorter rig.

The VCT Universal Baseplate has a built-in, curved shoulder pad for comfortable shoulder-mounted shooting, and a V-wedge connector for mounting the rig on a tripod. The baseplate also provides 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes and includes removable 6.5" long 15mm rods for mounting accessories such as an optional follow focus or matte box, as well as the included Zgrip Z-Mount Zwivel handgrip. The QR Riser raises your camera to a height compatible with matte boxes and also provides a quick-release for your camera. It includes a Gorilla Plate V2 and Gorilla Tripod Dock.

The Halfcage Rail is a solid, adjustable, universal cage structure for the side and top of your camera rig. It comes with a 3" Z-rail for mounting on the side of the VCT Universal Baseplate. The Halfcage Rail expands to fit over your camera and accessories and includes a Z-Rail, 1/4"-20 screw, and 15mm rod accessory attachment ports. The Recoil Handle attaches to the top of the Halfcage via an included 5" Z-Rail and serves a top handle that attaches directly to your camera with an included 5" Z-Rail. The Recoil Handle accepts two cold-shoe accessories and has a quick-release 15mm rod port for attaching the Gratical HD EVF via an included Axis Mini adjustable mounting arm.

By moving positioning the camera further back on your shoulder, an EVF becomes an important component for framing and monitoring your shots. The Gratical HD uses a micro OLED panel no bigger than your thumbnail that is packed with more than 5.4 million dots to deliver 720p resolution images with true blacks. It features SDI and HDMI inputs/outputs and supports cross-conversion as well as custom LUTs on both the viewfinder's display and the downstream video. Additionally, it is packed with all the professional scopes and video assist functions you'd expect from a professional viewfinder, and offers a variety of mounting options, including an ARRI compatible rosette and ¼"-20 threaded holes.
